L’Étape Greece by Tour de France 2026 brings the legend of the Tour de France and the heartbeat of global cycling to the Land of Heroes—Sparta. For the 4th consecutive year, Greece hosts the premier cycling event, co-organized by evZHN feelόsophy, the Region of Peloponnese, and the Municipality of Sparta, where cycling meets memory, myth, and the ultimate challenge, opening a new heroic chapter in the history of the event.
A breathtaking cycling experience has been designed under the shadow of Mount Taygetus, with a backdrop of olive groves, ancient sanctuaries, coastal routes, and traditional villages. Participants will enjoy a vivid and authentically Greek adventure in complete safety, along closed routes that offer a powerful connection to the history, nature, and mythology of Laconia.
The Start and Finish of L’Étape Greece by Tour de France 2026 will take place in the heart of History—right in front of the iconic statue of Leonidas—infusing every kilometer with powerful symbolism.
More than 1,000 cyclists from Greece and around the world will ride into the Myth of Sparta, choosing between two routes designed for different levels of experience and physical condition.
- The Race: A full competitive circuit of 138 km with 1,860 meters of elevation gain, ideal for experienced cyclists, featuring challenging climbs and multiple support stations.
- The Ride: A faster yet rewarding 64 km route with 1,150 meters of elevation, perfect for amateur riders who want to experience the Tour de France atmosphere.
From the ancient acropolis of Sparta and the sanctuary of Orthia Artemis, to the majestic castle town of Mystras, the elegant port of Gytheio, and the wild passes of Mount Taygetus—every stretch of the route turns each pedal stroke into an act of honor and endurance.
On Saturday, April 4, 2026, Sparta becomes the global capital of cycling, and L’Étape Greece by Tour de France invites everyone to take on an authentic cycling challenge—where history meets strength and passion.
