An unforgettable experience in Zakopane

Set in the heart of the Polish Tatras, the event once again offered participants an unforgettable cycling experience through one of the most beautiful mountain regions in Central Europe. Under perfect riding conditions, cyclists enjoyed spectacular roads and breathtaking views throughout the day.

L'Étape Poland was more than just a cycling race. With its vibrant event village in the heart of Zakopane, a Kids Race and a Family Ride, the event offered activities for all ages and created a true cycling festival atmosphere throughout the weekend.

Participants could choose between two challenging routes. The Ride 51 km featured 900 metres of elevation gain, while The Race 107 km offered a demanding 1,600 metres of climbing and finished atop the iconic Gubałówka climb, a 10-kilometre ascent averaging 4.4%.

The spirit of the Tour de France in Poland

The long-distance race saw Slovak rider Lubomír Murárik take an impressive victory (2:56:03), while Poland's Kamila Wójcikiewicz-Płotkowiak claimed the women's win on home roads (3:11:19). On the 51km course, Gabriel Girau crossed the line first in the men's race (1:31:47), with Aldona Wojtyła taking victory in the women's category (1:56:29).

Beyond the sporting performances, the event once again showcased the unique atmosphere that makes every L'Étape Series event special. Riders experienced the spirit of the Tour de France while discovering the beauty of Zakopane and the surrounding Tatra Mountains.

Following a successful weekend in Zakopane, the L'Étape Series continues its journey across Central Europe with L'Étape Slovakia by Tour de France on August 23. Riders will once again have the opportunity to challenge themselves on exceptional routes inspired by the spirit of the Tour de France.
