The Yellow Jersey has made its way to southern Chile

With three distances of 30, 60 and 110 kilometres, cyclists discovered the landscapes of the Los Ríos Region, from the coast of Niebla to the Cuesta de Curiñanco and Pufudi.

A first edition that brought together nearly 2,000 participants and brought the spirit of the Tour de France to Chilean roads.

Quintana and Torres celebrate victory

In the 110-kilometre race, Héctor Quintana claimed the men's victory in 2:52:11, averaging 38.34 km/h.

In the women's race, Martina Torres took the win in 3:06:23, with an average speed of 35.41 km/h.

Beyond the performances, this first edition will be remembered for the sight of cyclists dressed in yellow on the roads of Los Ríos, the climb up the Cuesta de Curiñanco and the encouragement of the crowds all along the route.

Valdivia discovers the L’Étape Series experience

For its first edition, L’Étape Chile by Tour de France found an ideal playground in Valdivia: roads between the ocean and nature, challenging climbs and a community brought together by a shared passion for cycling and the Tour de France.

From the start line on Avenida Los Robles to the finish, cyclists, volunteers and supporters made this inaugural edition a special moment for L’Étape Series in Chile.

The cycling celebration was also shared across the country, with the event broadcast live on CNN Chile.

Two events in Chile in 2027

And the adventure is only just beginning! Following this first edition in Valdivia, L’Étape Chile by Tour de France will feature two events in 2027.

On March 21, 2027, L’Étape Series will head to Pucón for the first time. In the heart of the Araucanía Region, cyclists will discover a new setting between Lake Villarrica and its famous volcano.

Then, on October 31, 2027, L’Étape will return to Niebla – Valdivia for a second edition on the roads of the Los Ríos Region.

Two more opportunities to live the Tour de France experience in Chile and continue growing the L’Étape Series community in South America.
