An unforgettable weekend in Bratislava

L'Étape Slovakia was once again a real community event. A lively start village, a friendly atmosphere, a wide mix of riders on the start line, from seasoned competitors and amateur families, representing around fifteen countries. Two distances were on offer: The Ride (60 km, 900 m of elevation) and The Race (113 km, 1,700 m of elevation). Riders started from Aupark in Bratislava, faced closed roads, climbed through the Little Carpathians, and finished atop Kamzík: the event delivered on every promise, in perfect racing conditions.

Event ambassador Daniel Oss made the trip for the occasion. The Italian champion, with 11 Tour de France appearances and years spent as Peter Sagan's teammate, rode The Race (113 km) and joined several social rides throughout the weekend, giving amateur riders the chance to pedal alongside him.

Closely fought races

On The Race, Slovak rider Samuel Kováč took the men's win in 2:53:12, just 11 seconds ahead of Lubomír Murárik, with Tomáš Višňovský completing the podium. In the women's race, Nikola Čorbová claimed victory in 3:15:29, ahead of Bianka Babačová and Katarina Sivokova.

On The Ride, Juraj Špindor took the men's win in 1:42:24, just 8 seconds clear of Gabriel Girau Tur and 10 seconds ahead of Adam Arpáš. In the women's category, Lenka Rusnák won in 1:49:40, ahead of Simona Machánová and Eliška Tesařová.
