Throwback to a successful 1st edition of l’Etape Marmaris by Tour de France presentad by Visa Maximiles
Today, a new chapter began for cycling in Türkiye. After two successful editions held in the iconic city of Istanbul, we announced that 2026 would be a special year with two events on the calendar, two L'Étape Series by Tour de France events.
The first, L'Étape Marmaris by Tour de France, took place on June 7, 2026, opening a new era for the series in Türkiye. The second event will be held after the summer, in Istanbul, on September 20, 2026.
Located on the south-west coast of Türkiye, on the shores of the Aegean Sea and close to the Greek islands, Marmaris is a breathtaking destination where mountains meet the sea, offering spectacular landscapes and renowned Turkish hospitality.
For this inaugural edition, more than 800 riders took to the start line and challenged themselves on one of two routes: a 65 km course or a demanding 100 km route featuring 2,200 metres of elevation gain.
Participants also enjoyed several iconic elements of the Tour de France experience. The famous red Škoda lead car, the official vehicle opening the race, was present in Marmaris, helping recreate the unique atmosphere of the world's greatest cycling event. The success of the event was also made possible thanks to the support of numerous partners, including Visa Maximiles, Mosso, Shimano, Marti Resort...
The event welcomed cyclists from more than 15 countries, further demonstrating the international appeal of the destination. Among the participants were several familiar faces from the L'Étape Series community. Şeniz PAMUK, winner of L'Étape Türkiye by Tour de France 2024, and Anton HRABOVSKYI both secured their qualification for the Championship 2027 program.
Throughout the day, many riders proudly wore jerseys from other events in the series, including L'Étape Greece by Tour de France and L'Étape Piemonte by Tour de France, perfectly illustrating the strong international community that connects cycling enthusiasts across the globe.
The L'Étape Series is proud to see this international success continue to strengthen the global presence of the Tour de France brand, bringing its spirit to riders every weekend around the world.
